India's journey towards Viksit Bharat @2047 will be shaped not only by infrastructure, institutions and economic growth, but by the people who will lead them. And at the heart of that journey is today's youth.
The leaders India needs for Viksit Bharat will require more than ambition and professional capability. They must understand India, stay connected to its communities, and develop an appreciation of the real challenges and opportunities around them. Youth4Impact will be a catalyst for this endeavour.
Youth4Impact is a national youth leadership development programme by Reliance Foundationand Reliance Consumer Products Limited (RCPL), with Jagriti Yatra and AIESEC in India as implementing partners. It brings together leadership training, domain knowledge and experiential community volunteering.
Leadership cannot be developed through classrooms alone.
Participants first undergo leadership development, followed by expert-led learning across four domains: Education, Career Readiness, Environment Action and Special Care Communities. They then take their learning into real community settings through structured volunteering.
The intent is not to expect young people to solve India's challenges today. It is to help them understand those challenges, connect with communities and develop the awareness, empathy and perspective that can shape how they lead tomorrow.
A young person may understand a social challenge intellectually, but interacting with a school student navigating career choices, spending time with an elderly person in a care home, or participating in an environmental initiative creates a fundamentally different understanding.
The challenge becomes human. The community becomes real.
Youth4Impact therefore positions volunteering not simply as an act of service, but as an integral part of leadership development, creating exposure, awareness and connection to India's realities.
As these young people move forward as entrepreneurs, professionals, educators, public servants, corporate leaders and institution-builders, this experience can influence how they understand problems, make decisions and develop solutions.
